Hey guys, I just got back home. Today was the performance day for the music competition that me and my friends entered a few days back and boy, was it fun!
We went against 2 other bands today, both of these bands are really good and I can see that they have plenty of potential! This will be a fierce competition, the results should come a few days from now and I’ll be happy to share it with you guys once the results are in but here’s a video of us right before our performance!
How An Internet Marketing Community Can Accelerate Your Growth
In today’s post, I’d like to share with you my idea on How An Internet Marketing Community Can Accelerate Your Growth. But before I start, let me tell you a quick story.
When I first got started on my music journey, I was really fresh, ignorant and clueless. I had no connection whatsoever with anyone in the music world. I was also really bad (playing wise). Most of my high school friends would constantly say that I have “no talent” in music.
But you know what? I kept practicing.
and I kept practicing…
and I kept practicing.
Mainly because I told myself, “You have no skill whatsoever, right now you’re just another worthless piece of shit with no talent, you better make this work”.
And I did manage to make it work. I actually got to a level where I can enroll for a music course at a local university. Phew, all that hard work paid off.
But of course, the journey doesn’t end there. Once I got in, I was surrounded by musicians who are literally a million times better than me. Some of them have been playing since they were in primary school, others have been performing regularly and gathered a lot of experience.
I felt like a small fish in a tank full of BIG ASS sharks. Wow that really made me feel like shit.
Little did I know, that was the greatest gift of all. To be in a community of musicians that are far better than me, far more talented and far more skilled.
I figured that if I need to improve myself further, I need to surround myself with these really great musicians.
I then started making friends, chat with them, hang out, share our stories and eventually learn some music.
They taught me tremendously on the conceptual and technical side of music. Then I realized, I need to start applying what I learned instead of just “getting the idea” in order to get to the next level.
I started playing and performing live and… I WAS TERRIBLE.
I thought I knew what it takes to be a great musician, I thought I could just apply what they taught me and then I’ll be a Rockstar! Hah, how wrong was I!
Then one day it dawned on me that experience is VITAL for my progress. I can’t just learn some stuff and expect to be an expert the next day. What I’ve been taught all my life in school was BULLSHIT!
Realizing that was important for me because today, I’ve won multiple music competitions and finally gain recognition among my peers in music. I am finally able to comfortably stand on the same level as them and most of the times even higher because I am consistently meeting new people and making new friends.
The musicians I play with today are some of the best musicians I’ve met in my entire life and I’ve seen quite a few along the 6 year period of my journey ever since I started studying music at the local university.
The point of the post is this, I would never have had the amount of exposure in music like I do now if did not decide to join a community of REAL musicians and making friends with them.
Which is why if you’re serious about Internet Marketing, you will NEED to be around a community of REAL Internet Marketers and Entrepreneurs. You need an Internet Marketing community.
